Bay Area Hot Tub Removal. Same-Day Spa Haul Away.

The tub nobody uses anymore, with water gone green and a cover that gave up. An old hot tub is far heavier than it looks, so our crew does the hard part and hauls it away. Same-day and next-day pickups reach the East Bay, Tri-Valley, Peninsula, South Bay and beyond.

A real hot tub removal from start to finish. The crew pulls the cabinet off, saws the shell into sections right there in the yard, then carries every piece out to the truck. Your old spa gets the same treatment.

How it works

How old hot tub removal works, in three simple steps.

  1. Snap a photo or call

A quick call, or a couple of photos through the form, gets things moving. Show us the tub and the route out to your driveway, and let us know if it's still wired in or holding water. We'll explain any prep that's needed.

    A minute or two

  2. Get your free quote

We price by how much room the tub takes up in the truck, never by the hour. Your quote is free, online or over the phone, and the crew confirms the exact price on site once they've seen the spa, before any work starts.

    Free, no obligation

  3. Out of the backyard

Tucked behind the house, on the patio slab, past a narrow side gate. When it won't fit through in one piece, our crew breaks it down right there, then loads every section along with the cover and steps, so nobody's wrestling a spa across the lawn.

    Nothing for you to lift

Why people hand it off

Full-service hot tub removal, with the hard part on us.

We’re a family owned and operated crew, and an old hot tub is one of the biggest single items we haul. The shell, the wet cabinet and a cover that’s soaked up a winter of rain add up to a job that would take a rented trailer, a few strong friends and a sore back the next day if you tackled it alone. For us it’s ordinary work, whether it’s a spa or a jacuzzi. Because we price by space in the truck, a long walk from the far end of the yard never adds to your bill.

  • Licensed and insured on every hot tub job
  • Same-day pickups when the schedule allows
  • Hauled out of the backyard, patio or side yard
  • One hot tub is priced on its own, never as a full load
  • Cover, steps and patio junk can go in the same trip

Hot tub pricing

How much does it cost to remove an old hot tub?

It comes down to how much room it takes up in our truck. We price hot tub removal by volume, not by the hour, so a long carry from the back fence isn’t charged any differently because it took a little longer. A compact two-seater takes up less space than a big family spa, and the quote follows the space.

One hot tub has its own rate, so it’s never priced like a full house cleanout. Quotes are free, online or over the phone. Send a photo and we’ll give you a number, and you’ll have the exact price from the crew when they arrive and see it, before anything moves.

  • Just the hot tub

One old spa out back. It's a single item, but it's easily the heaviest thing most homes ever get rid of, so it's a real job here with the full crew behind it.

  • The tub and everything with it

The spa plus its waterlogged cover, the cover lifter and the wooden steps. They all ride in the same load, so nothing gets left behind on the patio.

  • Patio pieces too

Old patio chairs, a worn-out grill, broken planters and the odds and ends that collected around the tub, cleared alongside it so the whole space opens up.

  • Garage and side yard

While the truck's here, the clutter in the garage or along the side of the house can go in the same booking, quoted together as one job.

Why it sits there

An old hot tub is hard to get rid of. Here’s what makes it tough.

Most old hot tubs aren’t still there because anyone wants them. The heater quit, the repair quote came back high, and the cover went on and stayed on. Meanwhile it holds onto the best corner of the yard, and every easy way of getting rid of it comes with a catch.

  1. Standing water goes bad

A tub that sits unused doesn't stay clean for long. Once the pump and filter stop running, the water turns green, mold and bacteria settle into the shell and under the cover, and mosquitoes move in. Draining it helps, but the damp cabinet and the soggy cover stay behind, and so does the smell.

  2. Big, bulky and awkward

Even empty, a hot tub is a wide shell inside a wooden or synthetic cabinet, with a pump, heater and wiring tucked underneath. Lying flat it's wider than most side gates, and moving it takes several people, a clear path and a truck that can take the load. A borrowed pickup won't cut it.

  3. The dump isn't simple either

A whole hot tub won't fit in a pickup bed, and transfer stations charge by the load, so the do-it-yourself route usually means cutting it into sections, renting a trailer and paying a gate fee on top. Curbside bulky-item pickups generally won't take one at all.

Could someone else use it?

If the tub still heats and holds water, someone may well want it. Plenty of people list a working spa for free or cheap on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or Nextdoor, as long as the new owner arranges the move. If you’re buying a new one, it’s also worth asking the dealer whether they’ll take the old tub.

And if it’s past saving, or you’d rather skip the listings and the no-shows, old spa removal is exactly what we do, so give us a call.

Where the tub goes

Every hot tub gets sorted once it leaves your yard.

A hot tub is part plastic, part wood, part metal and part electrical, and those don’t all belong in the same place. Here’s the order we work through once it’s on the truck.

  1. Working tubs rehomed

If it still runs and holds water, it's worth more in someone's backyard than in a landfill, so we look for a reuse home before anything else is decided.

  2. Metal parts to scrap

Pumps, heater parts and any metal framing go to scrap, where the metal is melted down and made into something new.

  3. Electronics recycled

The control pack and wiring go to an approved recycler, since electronics are banned from California landfills.

  4. The rest to the transfer station

What's left is mostly the shell and its foam insulation, and it only goes there once everything worth saving has come out.

Hot tub removal FAQ

Hot tub questions, answered plainly.

Cost, the dump, the water and the wiring. These are the questions people ask us most before booking a hot tub removal.

  • It depends on how much room the hot tub takes up in the truck, not on how long the job takes. A small two-person spa takes up less space than a large family-size tub, and a single hot tub is priced as one item, not as a full load. Send a photo through the form or give us a call for a free quote, and the crew settles the exact price once they're standing beside it.

  • Usually not. Transfer stations generally bill by the load or by weight, and a whole hot tub is far too big for the back of a pickup, so doing it yourself tends to mean sawing it apart, hiring a trailer and covering the fee at the gate. It's worth checking your local station's rules first. If you'd rather skip all of that, we're happy to take it off your hands.

  • There are three real options: give it away if it still works, cut it up and take it to a transfer station yourself, or have a hauler take it. Giving it away works best for a tub that still runs properly, and whoever takes it has to handle the moving. Cutting one up takes a saw, protective gear and most of a day. Calling us is the simple one: a free quote, and the tub leaves your yard on our truck.

  • Possibly, and we'll tell you exactly what's needed when you call. A hot tub usually runs on its own electrical circuit, and that power has to be safely shut off and disconnected before the tub is moved. Depending on how it's wired, that can be a job for a licensed electrician. Let us know how it's hooked up and how much water is still in it, and we'll walk you through what to do ahead of pickup.

  • Yes, the cover, the cover lifter, the steps and anything else that went with the tub can all go in the same load. A cover full of rainwater gets surprisingly heavy, so that's one less thing for you to drag around. Other backyard junk can come along too, and the quote simply follows the space it all takes up.

  • It slowly gets worse. Old water goes cloudy and sour, mold and bacteria take hold, and mosquitoes like it as much as anyone. Even drained, a dead tub takes up a big piece of the yard. If it isn't coming back to life, one call gets it on our schedule.

  • Yes. One hot tub, spa or jacuzzi is a full job here, with a rate of its own and the same crew you'd get for a whole house cleanout. Plenty of our pickups are a single big item someone is simply done with.
