Privacy Policy

Junk Magik LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) hauls junk around the Bay Area. This page explains what we collect when you ask for an estimate, what happens to the photos you send, and how to get any of it deleted. Using this site or contacting us means you’re fine with what’s described here.

What we collect

Only what you hand us. There are no accounts on this site, nothing is sold through it, and we don’t keep a customer database here.

• What you type into the form. Your name, phone number, ZIP code, the service you picked, your email if you give it, and whatever you write in the message field.
• Photos you attach. The estimate form lets you send up to three pictures of the pile. They’re resized in your own browser before they leave your device, then attached to the email that reaches us. We use them to size the load and price the job. Nothing else.
• What you tell us on the phone. If you call or email, we have whatever you chose to say.
• Ordinary site usage data. Like most sites, ours records limited technical information through analytics. See below.

What we do with it

We use what you send to:

• Answer your question or estimate request;
• Quote the job and schedule the pickup;
• Follow up about a haul we’ve already done; and
• Understand how people use this site.

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information. You won’t be added to a mailing list, and we don’t send marketing text messages. The form doesn’t collect consent for them, so we don’t send them.

Where your form goes

The form doesn’t write to a database. It goes through Resend, an email delivery service, which turns your submission and any photos into an email addressed to us. Resend processes it to deliver the message and under its own privacy and security practices. After that, your request lives in our inbox like any other email.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Vercel. Delivering it means Vercel handles limited technical data, IP addresses and request logs, for security and performance, under its own privacy practices.

Analytics and cookies

We run Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to see which pages get read and how people find us. These use cookies and similar technologies to collect things like approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visited. We look at it in aggregate; Google’s own privacy practices govern it.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and Google publishes an opt-out for Analytics. Turning cookies off won’t stop you booking a pickup or reaching us.

Who builds and maintains this site

This site is designed, developed and maintained by Lokalume, a web development and digital marketing agency. Lokalume builds and supports our website, hosting, analytics and advertising systems, and administers the configuration that routes your form submissions to our inbox. It works as our service provider, under our direction, and does not use your information for its own purposes.

Third parties we rely on

A short list: Vercel for hosting, Resend for form and email delivery, Google for analytics and ad conversion tracking, and Lokalume, the web development and digital marketing agency that builds and maintains this site and manages our Google Ads. Each of these handles data only to do its job, under its own policy, and none of them use your information for their own purposes. This site may also link out to places we don’t run — Google Maps, our Facebook and Instagram pages — and we’re not responsible for how those handle your information.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect what you send. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, though, and we can’t promise otherwise. Don’t send card numbers, Social Security numbers, or anything similar through the form or by email. We’ll never ask for them.

How long we keep it

Your request sits in our email as long as we reasonably need it to quote, schedule, and service the job, or to meet a legal or business obligation. Ask us to delete your correspondence and we will.

Your choices

Write to us and you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. California residents have further rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We don’t sell personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of on that front. Make any request using the details below and we won’t treat you differently for it.

Children

This site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect anything from children under 13. If you think a child sent us something, get in touch and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top. Carrying on using the site after that means the new version applies.
