What we take
From one stubborn couch to a whole property. Tell us roughly what you have and you’ll get an affordable estimate before the truck leaves the yard.

Couches, sectionals, dressers, dining sets. Nothing needs moving outside first, we carry it out from wherever it sits, stairs included. Anything still in good shape gets donated.
Fridges, washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters. Heavy, awkward and easy to hurt yourself on, so leave them where they are. Refrigerant units are handled separately.
Mattresses and box springs, any size, picked up from the bedroom, the garage or the storage unit rather than the curb. California runs a statewide recycling program, so most come apart for materials.
Floor to rafters, including the shelf you cannot reach. You do not sort it first. Point at what stays, we take the rest, and the slab gets swept before we pull out.
Branches, brush, sod, leaves, old patio furniture, fence panels and planters. Green waste stays out of the mixed load so it can be composted.
Clearing a property after a loss is hard work at a hard time. We go at your pace, with room to set things aside as you decide, and we are not charging by the hour while you do it.
TVs, monitors, computers, printers and cables. Electronics are banned from California landfills, so this goes through certified recycling. Qualifying commercial jobs can get a Certificate of Recycling or Destruction.
The heaviest thing in most back yards. Drained, cut down on the pad and carried out in sections. Electrical has to be disconnected first, so tell us what is there and we will say what needs doing beforehand.
Eligible wood, drywall, flooring and old fixtures from renovation and demo, homeowners and contractors both. Clean single-material loads tip cheaper than mixed ones, and we will tell you which one you actually have.

None of this can legally ride in a general hauler’s load. Better you hear it now than in the driveway.
Every Bay Area county runs a household hazardous waste drop-off, and most take this free from residents. Tell us what you’ve got and we’ll point you at the nearest one.
How it goes
From the first photo to a swept slab. Most jobs run start to finish inside a couple of hours, and same-day and next-day pickups are normal across the East Bay, and regular out to the Tri-Valley, Peninsula and South Bay.
Send pictures through our simple online form of the pile, the garage, the room. A rough description over the phone works too — we have seen the garage before.
A fair and competitive price based on the space it takes in the truck, before anyone is dispatched. Nothing is added once we arrive.
You show us what is going. Nothing leaves that you have not pointed at, and anything you are still deciding on stays.
We carry it out and sweep the slab before we pull away. The load gets sorted on our end, not yours.
How pricing works
Junk removal gets priced one of two ways: by the hour, or by the volume the load occupies. We price by volume, because it is the one you can check before you agree to it.
A mattress is mostly air and a box of floor tile is mostly not. Charging by weight would punish you for the wrong loads, so the truck bed is the measure. Stairs, a long carry and a blocked curb costs you nothing, because we are not on the clock.

Why Junk Magik
Junk Magik is a junk removal and hauling service based in Hayward, working across the Bay Area for homeowners, property managers and contractors. You tell us what is going, we do the lifting, and the load gets sorted on our end so it does not end up in one pile at the landfill.

Yes. One couch that won't go down the stairs is a job. So is a whole house. Same crew, same fair rate, priced up front.
Paint, solvents, motor oil and fuel, propane tanks and pressurised cylinders, asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, and ammunition or fireworks. None of it can legally ride in a general hauler's load. Set it aside and we'll point you at your county's household hazardous waste drop-off.
